A shocking incident of murder unfolded in the Railway North Colony quarters, as criminals entered the residence of railway worker Rajkumar Chandan and fatally shot him around 1:30 AM. The victim, a fourth class railway employee residing in quarter 314B near the city police station, was attacked while he was asleep in his home. Following the shooting, the perpetrators fled the scene, prompting immediate police response led by city police station in-charge Amit Kumar Gupta.
Upon arrival, the police initiated an investigation, retrieving the victim's body for post-mortem examination at Sadar Hospital. According to the victim's wife, Rinku Devi, there were no known enmities involving her husband, although a recent altercation with intoxicated individuals near their residence occurred. Devi, who was present during the attack, emphasized her husband's lack of conflict with anyone. The deceased leaves behind his wife and two young children, aged 2.5 and 4 years, respectively, with the family residing in the same quarter since Devi's posting in Railways in Sahibganj in 2016. As authorities delve into the case, the motive behind the murder remains under scrutiny.
